Montgomery County, be, and they are hereby, authorized

of indebt-

and empowered to incur a debt, not exceeding the sum of

five hundred dollars, to be expended in paving the side-

walks of said town, and shall, whenever any such dirt is
|
|
|
|
created, provide for the payment thereof by issuing certifi-
|
|
|
|
cates of indebtedness at such rate of interest, not exceeding
|
|
|
|
six per centum per annum, as the commissioners may deem
|
|
|
|
advisable j and said certificate shall be payable within ten
|
|
|
|
years in the discretion of the commissioners.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 309.

AN ACT to repeal section 743 of article 4 of the Code of

|
|
|
Public Local Laws, title " City of Baltimore," sub-title
|
|
|
|
"Police," and to re-enact the same with amendments,
|
|
|
|
and to add an additional section to said article 4 to be
|
|
|
|
numbered 743 A and to come in after section 743.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That section 743 of article 4 of the Code of Public
|
Amend-
ment.
|
|
|
Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police,"
|
|
|
|
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, and let
|
|
|
|
an additional section be added to said article 4 to be
|
|
|
|
numbered section 743 A, to come in after section 743, which
|
|
|
|
section shall read as follows :
|
|
|
|
743. Said Board of Police Commissioners are authorized,
|
|
|
|
empowered and directed to grant leave of absence with pay
|

for a period of fifteen days in each consecutive year of ser-

vice to each of the officers of police, policemen and detectives
|
|
|
|
of the regular force employed by said board nor shall any
|
|
|
|
enforced absence with leave on account of sickness or death,

be deducted from the pay of any such officer of police,
|
|
|
|
policemen or detective, or from the fifteen days' leave as
|
|
|
|
herein provided for.

743 A. The Board of Police Commissioners are hereby

|
|
|
authorized and empowered to appoint and employ in addi-
