uuder this charter shall be designated by the burgess and

|
commissioners of said town holding office at the time of the
|
|
|
|
granting of this charter ; who shall also appoint the judges
|
|
|
|
and clerks of said election; the judges and clerks of all
|
|
|
|
subsequent elections shall be appointed by the council to
|
|
|
|
be elected under this charter.

|
SEC. 399. The council shall meet at some convenient,.
|

may be necessary to discharge the duties of their office, not

less, however, than once in every three months.

SEC. 400. The burgess shall preside at all meetings, and

shall call such meetings from time to time as he may deem

necessary, but in the event of the absence of the burgess at

one of their number to preside during his absence, who shall

council shall pass rules and by-laws for their own govern-

ment while in session.

SEC. 401. Neglect or non-user shall not work a forfeiture

SEC. 402. The council shall annually appoint a clerk, who

in a similar book all ordinances passed by the council, and

the burgess shall sign his name to all ordinances as recorded,

and the clerk shall attest his signature ; and the clerk shall

discharge such other duties as the council may require; the

said council shall also annually appoint a bailiff, and such

|
|
|
under bailiffs and other officers as may be by them deemed
|
|

necessary.

SEC. 403. The council shall allow their clerk and bailiff

SEC. 404. The council and other officers of the corpora-

SEC. 405. The clerk and bailiff shall give bond to the

burgess and council of Point of Rocks in such penalty and
|
