of Maryland passed at its present January session for the


registration of voters in said respective wards of the city of


Hagerstown, said registers may not have strictly complied


with all the formalities required by said act ; but for the


convenience of affording the privilege of registration to all


qualified voters applying therefor may have failed to ob-


serve sundry provisions thereof; and


WHEREAS, all irregularities, if any, made as aforesaid,

were committed without dishonest intent and in order to


facilitate the operation and fulfill the spirit of said act of


assembly ; therefore,


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Appoint-
ments of

Maryland, That the appointments heretofore made by the

registers

Governor of M aryland of registers of voters for the respec-


tive wards of the City of Hagerstown be and the same are


hereby made valid and legal, as fully and completely as


though said appointments had been made in strict con-


formity with the provisions of chapter thirty -six of the acts


of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at its present


January session, entitled an act to repeal sections one hun-


dred and fifty-six, and one hundred and fifty-nine of


article twenty-two of the Code of Public Local Laws enti-


tled "Washington County," sub-title "Hagerstown," and


to re-enact the following in lieu thereof in amending and


revising the charter of Hagerstown, and in providing for


the government thereof, and to add new and additional sec-


tions to article twenty-two of the Code of Public Local Laws,


title "Washington County," sub-title " Hagerstown."


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the appointments here-


tofore made by the Governor of Maryland of the board of
