dred and fifty -six and one hundred and fifty-nine of article


twenty-two of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled


"Washington Comity," sub-title "Hagerstown," and tore-


enact the following in lieu thereof in amending and revising


the charter of Hagerstown, and in providing for the govern-


ment thereof, and to add new and additional sections to


article twenty-two of the Code of Public Local Laws, title


"Washington County," sub-title "Hagerstown," be and


the same are hereby made valid and legal as fully and com-


pletely as if such entries made, acts done and proceedings


taken by said respective registers of voters, had in all re-


spects, and in the minutest detail, complied and conformed


with the provisions of said aci of the General Assembly of


Maryland, passed at its present January session and here-


inbefore in this section described by its appropriate title ;


and the said respective registries of voters, as now prepared


and made out by the said respective registers of. voters are


hereby declared, and are hereby made valid and legal for


the purposes contemplated in the acts of the General


Assembly of Maryland, passed at its present January


session and described by their respective titles in section


one and section two of this act.


SEC. 4. Se it enacted, That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 216.


AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Wash-


ington County to issue " Bonds " for building a school


house in Hagerstown in election district No. 21, in said


county, and to levy a tax for the payment of the same.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Washington

County be and they are hereby authorized and empowered,

in their discretion, to issue " bonds " to an amount not ex-


ceeding ten thousand dollars, in sums not less than one


hundred dollars, nor more than one thousand dollars each,


to be signed by the president of the board of said County
