CHAPTER 137.


AN ACT to add an additional section to article ninety -three


of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Testamentary


Laws," sub-title "Orphans' Court," and to be called sec-


tion 227 A, authorizing the Governor to designate and


commission one of the three judges of the Orphans' Court


as chief judge, and to ratify and confirm the acts of the


Governor in making such designation, and issuing such


commissions, and vesting in each of said persons so des-


ignated and commissioned as chief judge, full power and


authority us such, and confirming all writs and other


process tesfed by them as such.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the following section be, and the same is

hereby added to article ninety-three of the Code of Public

phans' Court," to come in after section 227, and to be called


section 227 A.


227 A. The Governor shall, of the three persons elected


judges of the Orphans' Court in the several counties and the

city of Baltimore, designate and commission one as chief

judge of his respective court, and all acts of the Governor

Court

in designating one of said judges as chief judge, and in


commissioning him as such, and all commissions heretofore


issued by the Governor to said judges so designated and


commissioned as chief judge of his respective court, are


hereby ratified and confirmed to all intents and purposes as


if this section had been in full force when such designations


were made and commissions issued, and full power and


authority are hereby vested in each of said judges so des-


ignated and commissioned as chief judge to act as such


chief judge, and all writs and other process tested in the


names of said chief judges respectively, are hereby declared


valid to all intents and purposes, as if this act had been in


force when the same were issued.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take


effect from the date of its passage.
