CHAPTER 116.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to repeal section 573 of article 4 of the Code of
|
|
|
|
Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore City," sub-title
|
|
|
|
" Jail," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
Repealed
|
Maryland, That section 573 of article 4 of the Code of Pub-
|
|
|
and
re-enacted.
|
lic Local Laws, title "Baltimore City," sub-title " Jail," be
|
|
|
|
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
|
|
|
|
amendments so as to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
573. Whenever any person has been committed to the
|
|
|
|
Baltimore city jail on the charge of intemperance or dis-
|
|
|
To release
|
orderly conduct who is affected with any form of disease that
|
|
|
from
Baltimore
|
in the judgment of the physician of said jail would require
|
|
|
City jail
|
a longer time than the term of sentence to cure, or in any
|
|
|
|
case where the accommodation, comfort, care and nursing
|
|
|
|
cannot be furnished by the said jail, or in case of any person
|
|
|
|
who may be insane at the time of committal, or become in-
|
|
|
|
sane daring the term for which committed the board of visit-
|
|
|
|
ors to said jail shall have the power to release and send such
|
|
|
|
person to his or her home, and if without a home, to some
|
|
|
|
infirmary, hospital or Bay View, where provision has been
|
|
|
|
made by the uity of Baltimore for the reception of such cases.

Effective

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
|
from the date of its passage.
|
|
|
|

CHAPTER 117.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Harford
|
|
|
|
County to grant a pension to Bridget O'Donnell, widow
|
|
|
|
of Matthew O'Dounell, of said county.
|
|
|
|
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Harford
|
|
|
Pension to
Bridget
|
County be and they are hereby authorized, in their dis-
|
|
|
O'Donnell
|
cretion to levy and pay annually to Bridget O'Donnell,
|
|
|
|
widow of Matthew O'Donnell, of said county, a sum of
|
|
|
|
money not exceeding seventy-five dollars.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this act shall take
|
|
|
