CHAPTER 106.


AN ACT to refund to Ross Compton, late collector of taxes


for Garrett County, the amount overpaid by him into the


Treasury of the State of Maryland, for taxes for the years


eighteen hundred and eighty -eight and eighteen hundred


and eighty -nine.


SECTION 1. WHEREAS, it appears by the books of the


Treasury Department of the State of Maryland, that Ross :
Compton, late collector of taxes for Garrett County, has

paid into the Treasury of the State of Maryland, the sum of


sixty-three dollars and sixty-four cents in excess of the


amount due by him for State taxes for the years eighteen


hundred and eighty-eight, and eighteen hundred and


eighty -nine, and whereas the officers of the treasury have


recommended the passage of a law refunding the said sum


of money.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the Treasurer of the State of Maryland, be

and is hereby required upon the warrant of the Comptroller


of the State of Maryland to pay to Ross Compton the sum


of sixty -three dollars and sixty-four cents out of any money


in the Treasury of the State of Maryland not otherwise


appropriated.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of additional police


officers for Brooklyn and South Baltimore, Anne Arun-


del County.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arun-


del County are required on the first day of May, eighteen

appoint two additional police officers, for the towns of


Brooklyn and South Baltimore, one of said officers to be


stationed at Brooklyn and the other at South Baltimore,


and shall arm and equip said policemen and make such


rules and regulations for their proper government and dis-


cipline as they may deem best to promote their efficiency.
