LAWS OF MARYLAND.


SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of said


policemen, at all times of the day and night to preserve the

public peace, prevent crime and protect the rights of per-


sons and property, and to arrest all offenders against the


laws of the State, and to take such offenders to the nearest


justice of the peace for said county, and to this end they


shall have all the power and authority of county constables.


SEC. 3. Se it enacted, That the pay of each policeman

be made out and certified as required by the County

AN ACT to grant the sanction and consent of the General

Assembly of Maryland to the sale by William J. Hess and


others, truste.es, of a lot of ground in Baltimore City, and


the annual rent issuing thereout, to Saint Paul's Evan-


gelical Lutheran Church of Baltimore City.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the sanction and consent of the said General


Assembly are hereby declared and granted to the sale by


William J. Hess, Philip H. Israel and the Baltimore Trust


and Guarantee Company, trustees to Saint Paul's Evangel-
