Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Levin A. Insley and Corbin W. Insley, owners of said
pungy, are citizens of the State of Maryland, and by reason of said
|
|
|
|
citizenship are unable to obtain redress through the courts; and,
|
|
|

WHEREAS, by said collision, said pungy, her cargo and all money
and valuables aboard became a total loss to the owners, and it is
|
|
|
|
right and proper that said owners should be paid their actual and
|
|
|
|
bona fide loss; therefore,
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the comptroller of the State is hereby authorized and directed
|
|
|
|
to issue his warrant upon the State treasurer in favor of Levin A.
|
|
|
|
Insley and Corbin W. Insley, owners of said pungy Eva Hemmings-
|

way, for the sum of two thousand eight hundred and twenty-six
|
|
|
|
dollars and seventy-five cents for pay and indemnity for losses sus-
tained by said owners as disclosed by the preamble of this act, the
|
|
|
|
same having been approved by the comptroller of the treasury.

|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
|
|
|
|
the date of its passage.
|

|

CHAPTEE 117.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the trustees of Bethesda pres-
|
|
|
|
byterian church in Montgomery county, Maryland, to sell and
|
|
|
|
convey real property belonging to said church.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the trustees of Bethesda presbyterian church in Montgomery
|
|
|
|
county, Maryland, be and they are hereby authorized and em-
|
|
|

powered to sell any part or parcel of the real estate belonging to
said church, and to convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers
|
|
|
convey.

thereof by a good and sufficient deed or deeds; any moneys de-
|
|
|
|
rived from such sale or sales shall be used by said trustees to im-
|
|
|
|
prove, repair and maintain any portion of said real estate that may
|
|
|
|
be retained by them as in their judgment may be for the best in-
|
|
|
|
terest of said church, and for no other purpose whatsoever.

|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
|
|
|
|
the date of its passage.
