SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the acts of the Westminster savings institution in omitting to


appoint in every twelve months five competent members of said cor-


poration as a committee of examination to investigate the affairs of


said corporation, and make and publish a report of such investiga-


tion in one ov more newspapers published in Carroll county, and to


make and declare a dividend of the interest and profits of said in-


stitution once in every six months in each and every year, be and

AN ACT to pay Levin A. Insley and Corbin W. Insley, owners of


the pungy Eva Hemmingsway, the sum of two thousand eight


hundred and twenty-six dollars and seventy-five cents, indem-


nity to them for the destruction and loss of said pungy her


cargo and moneys aboard the same, by the collision of the State


steamer Governor McLane.


WHEREAS, on the night of September the fifth, A. D. eighteen


hundred and eighty-eight, the State steamer Governor McLane did


collide with and sink the pungy Eva Hemmingsway near the


mouth of the Severn river, and upon full legal investigation thereof
by the United States local inspector for Baltimore, it was adjudged
and decided that the said State steamer and the captain thereof
