to be imposed by any justice of the peace of said county, or, by the


circuit court thereof, upon conviction thereof.


SUB-SEC. 8. Any person or persons, except a bona fide resident


of said county who has resided therein for the twelve months next


preceding, who shall as master or person in charge use any boat,


canoe or vessel in taking and catching crabs with scrapes, drags,


dredges or similar instruments in the waters of said county, the


Great Choptank river excepted, or any person or persons except


bona fide residents of said county who have resided therein for


the twelve months next preceding, who shall be employed in any


capacity upon any boat, canoe or vessel engaged in taking and
catching crabs with scrapes, drags, dredges or similar instruments
in the waters of said county, shall be deemed guilty of a misde-

meanor and upon conviction thereof in the circuit court for said


county or before a justice of the peace of said county, be sentenced


to pay a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars nor more than


fifty dollars and costs of prosecution and stand committed to the


county jail until such fine and costs are paid, or until discharged

therefrom in due course of law; and any person or persons who

shall violate any of the provisions t f this act, the penalty for

which is not hereinbefore provided for shall be deemed guilty of

a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof in the circuit court

for said county or before a justice of the peace of said county,

shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than twenty-five dol-

lars nor more than fifty dollars and costs of prosecution, and

stand committed to the county jail until such fine and costs are

paid or until discharged therefrom in due course of law.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

AN ACT to incorporate the town of West Annapolis.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the citizens of the town of West Annapolis, in Anne Arundel


county, State of Maryland, be and they are hereby constituted a

body corporate by the name of the "Commissioners of West An-


napolis," and by that name may sue and be sued, and have and


use a common seal.


SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the corporate limits of said town


shall be as follows : beginning at a point on Weems' creek, in


the second election district of said county, where the lands of


William Feldmeyer join the lands of the heirs of the late Luther
