AN ACT to incorporate the trustees of the presbytery of Balti-


more.


WHEREAS, the presbytery of Baltimore in connection with the


general assembly of the presbyterian church in the United States


of America, has devised means for the raising of funds for educa-

tional and other religious purposes, and for the purpose of authoriz-


ing and empowering the said presbytery of Baltimore to receive,


invest and dispose of said funds and for other corporate purposes;


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That Henry Branch, John P. Carter, George E. Jones, Joseph T.


Smith, James E. Moffatt, Edward D. Freeman, John K. Cowen,


A. Hunter Boyd and Elisha H. Perkins and their successors, to


be from time to time designated by the presbytery of Baltimore


as hereinafter provided, be and they are hereby incorporated and


made a body corporate and politic by the name of "The trustees

of the presbytery of Baltimore;" and by that name said body and


its successors shall have perpetual succession, and by that name


be capable of suing and being sued, and shall have and use a


common seal, and the same alter and renew at pleasure, and shall


have and exercise such other powers as shall or may be necessary


or proper to carry into effect the objects of the incorporation.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the moderator of said presby-


tery of Baltimore ex-officio, and said persons and their successors


duly elected and appointed, shall be the trustees of the said cor-


poration for the period of one year from the date of this act, or


until their successors shall be duly appointed and qualified; the


successors to said trustees shall be elected by the members of said

presbytery or so many of the same as shall be present at the spring


meeting of said presbytery, or at any adjourned meeting thereof,


and at such other times and places as the members of said cor-


poration, when convened, shall direct and appoint; and the


moderator of said presbytery, for the time being, shall be ex-officio


the president of the board of trustees of said corporation.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall have
