the power to pass such rules, regulations or by-laws as shall not

be repugnant to any provision of the constitution or laws of this

State or of the United States; and that said corporation shall
|

have full power and authority to take and hold subscriptions, con-
|
|
|

tributions, legacies or devises of money or real or personal prop-

erty of every kind and description for its said corporate purposes,

and the same to invest, and the proceeds to apply for the said cor-
|
|

porate purposes as shall from time to time be most expedient,

the income from said property or funds not to exceed the amount

of twenty-five thousand dollars per annum; and the said corpora-
|
|
|
|
tion shall have the right to sell, grant, dispose of, alien or demise
|
|
|
|
all said property in such manner and upon such terms as it shall
|
|
|
|
deem proper.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall have
|
|
|
|
perpetual succession and that nothing herein contained shall en-
|
|
|
|
large, restrict or in any manner affect the power or authority

which said presbytery of Baltimore now hath, or may exercise or

|
|
|
claim over the churches in connection with said presbytery or the
|
|
|
|
members thereof; but all such powers and authorities which are
|
|
|
|
or may be claimed or exercised shall remain in like condition, and

none other, as if this act had not been passed.

|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall be void and of
|
|
|
|
none effect unless it shall be accepted by the said presbybery of
|
|
|

Baltimore within one year from the date of its passage; said ac-

ceptance to be evidenced by a certificate signed by the moderator
|
|
|
|
of said presbytery and the clerk thereof and filed in the office of
|
|

the secretary of State within said period.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

|
|
|
the date of its passage.
