LAWS OF MARYLAND.


March, A. D. eighteen hundred and forty-eight, is hereby repealed;
provided, that if said bridge shall be repaired before the first day


of November, A. D. eighteen hundred and ninety, then this act


shall be of no effect, otherwise to be in full force.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if said bridge is not repaired


before the first day of November, A. D. eighteen hundred and


ninety, then it shall be the duty of the State's attorney for Wash-

time of said notification the charter of said bridge company shall

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 500.


AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State gov-


ernment, for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day of Sep-


tember, eighteen hundred and ninety-one.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That for the expenditures in the support of the State government,

for the fiscal year beginning with the first day of October, eigh-
teen hundred and ninety, and ending with the thirtieth day of


September, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, the following sums


of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the


same are hereby appropriated, that is to say :


FOR STATE OFFICERS.


For the salary of the governor, four thousand five hundred dol-


lars; for the salary of the secretary of State, two thousand dol-


lars; for the salary of the messenger to the governor, one thou-


sand dollars; for the salary of the comptroller of the treasury,

clerk to the comptroller, eighteen hundred dollars; for the salary

of three assistant clerks to the comptroller, twelve hundred dol-

the chief clerk to the treasurer, eighteen hundred dollars; for the


salary of two assistant clerks to the treasurer, each twelve hun-


dred "dollars, making twenty-four hundred dollars; for the salary


of one clerk to the State tax commissioner, twelve hundred dol-


lars; for the salary of State librarian, fifteen hundred dollars
