CHAPTER 481.


AN ACT to authorize the trustees of the academy at Easton, in

Talbot county, to convey to the board of county school com-


missioners of Talbot county all of their lands, buildings, moneys,


bonds, stocks, &c., for the purpose of enlarging the present


academy building and maintaining therein a public high school.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the trustees of the academy at Easton, in Talbot county, or

To convey

a majority of them, be and they are hereby authorized to convey


to the board of county school commissioners of Talbot county in


fee-simple, the lot of ground in the town of Easton, on which


their academy building now stands.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the trustees of the academy at


Easton, in Talbot county, or a majority of them, are hereby au-


thorized to give and to set over to the use of the board of county


school commissioners of Talbot county all their money and all

investments by them in stocks, bonds, &c., for the purpose of


defraying in part, the cost of enlarging the present academy


building and furnishing the same; provided, this act shall not


affect in any manner the amount of the academic fund now an-


nually paid by this State to Talbot county; and provided, that


the board of county school commissioners provide for maintain-


ing in said building a public high school.


SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

the Code of Public General Laws, title "County Commis-


sioners," sub-title "Public Roads,' in so far as the same relates


to Talbot county and re-enact the same with amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
