SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from.

WHEREAS, a fine of two hundred dollars was imposed by M.

M. Davis, justice of the peace of the State of Maryland, on the
|
|
|

schooner N. B. Anderson and John W. Carew, her master, for
|
|
|
|
alleged violation of the oyster law in November, eighteen hun-
|
|
|
|
dred and eighty-eight, which proceedings on appeal before the
|
|
|
|
circuit court of Calvert county were quashed and reversed after
|
|
|
|
said fine was paid into the treasury; therefore,
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the comptroller draw his warrant upon the treasurer in
|
|
|
|
favor of Edwin H. Ford and John W. Carew for the sum of two
|
|
|

hundred dollars, being the fine imposed by M. M. Davis, justice
|
|
|
warrant
|
of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Calvert county,
|
|
|
|
in proceedings before him, which proceedings on appeal to the
|
|
|
|
circuit court of Calvert county, were quashed by the court after
|
|
|
|
the fine was paid into the treasury, the same having been ap-
|
|
|
|
proved by the officers of the treasury.
