respectively named in said conveyances; and to sanction the


holding and disposal of said lot of ground by each of said sev-


eral corporations under said respective conveyances; and to


sanction the acquisition and holding of the leasehold, rever-


sionary and fee-simple interests in said lot of ground by the


home missionary society of the Maryland annual conference of


the methodist protestant church, a body corporate under the


laws of the State of Maryland, under the conveyances to it here-


in specified, and to ratify and confirm the title of said corpo-


ration to said lot of ground, so far as said title is acquired,


through and under the several conveyances herein specified.


WHEREAS, by indenture dated August thirteenth, A. D. eigh-


teen hundred and four, and recorded among the land records of


Baltimore city, in liber W. G., number eighty-two, folio five hun-


dred and forty-four, &c., John Bouldin did lease unto Charles

Garty and others, and the survivors or survivor of them, as trus-


tees for the evangelical protestant German Lutheran congregation


of Baltimore city, the lot of ground situate on the northeast cor-


ner of Broadway and Monument street, in the city of Baltimore,


in said indenture particularly described, for the term and at the


rent in said indenture set forth; and,


WHEREAS, said congregation subsequently became duly in-


corporated under the laws of this State under the name of "The

trustees of Zion church of the city of Baltimore;" and,


WHEREAS, by assignment dated September twenty-fourth, A. D.,


eighteen hundred and fifty-seven, and recorded among the afore-


said land records, in liber E. D., number one hundred and thirty-


five, folio one hundred and seventy-nine, &c., John Jacob Peter,

administrator of Henry Schroeder, the survivor of the trustees


named in the above mentioned lease, did assign the legal title to


the leasehold interest in said lot to " The trustees of Zion church


of the city of Baltimore " aforesaid; and,


WHEREAS, said, " The trustees of Zion church of the city of


Baltimore " aforesaid, purchased and acquired the reversionary


and fee-simple interest in said lot under two deeds, one from Har-


riet Bouldin and others, dated September eighth, A. D., eighteen

hundred and fifty-seven, and recorded among the aforesaid land


records, in liber E. D., number one hundred and thirty-five, folio


sixty-four, &c., the other from Arianna Bouildin, trustee, dated


November third, A. D., eighteen hundred and fifty-seven, and re-


corded among the aforesaid land records, in liber E. D., number


one hundred and thirty-eight, folio one hundred and fifty-one,


&c.; and,


WHEREAS, by bond of conveyance, dated November seventeenth,
