CHAPTER 414.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to authorize the clerk of the circuit court for Baltimore
|
|
|
|
county to destroy certain poll-books and certain orders for the
|
|
|
|
summoning of witnesses, and the sheriff's return of the sum-
|
|
|
|
moning of witnesses in civil and criminal cases.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the, clerk of the circuit court for Baltimore county be and
|
|
|
|
he is hereby authorized and directed to destroy all poll-books,
which now are or which shall hereafter be in his custody for two
|

years, excepting the poll-books of any district as to which a con-
|
|
|
|
test is pending, and to destroy all orders for the issue of sub-
|
|
|
|
poenas to procure the attendance of witnesses in civil and criminal
|
|
|
|
cases, and the sheriff's returns to such subpoenas which have lain
|
|
|
|
in the said clerk's office for two years and upwards.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 415.

|
AN ACT to provide for the further publication of the archives
|
|
|
|
of Maryland.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the Maryland historical society has complied with
|
|
|
|
all the provisions of the acts of assembly heretofore passed at the
session of eighteen hundred and eighty-two and previous sessions,
|
|
|
|
relating to the preservation, arrangement and publication of the
|

|
|
archives and ancient documents pertaining to the history of the
|
|
|
|
State of Maryland, and has under said acts published seven volumes
|
|
|
|
of the same, and made considerable progress in the preparation
|
|
|
|
for publication of the eighth volume; and,
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, it is proper that the publication of said archives
|
|
|
|
be continued with reasonable diligence and care under the direc-
|

tion of said society; therefore,

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sum of two thousand dollars f or each year, f or the period

of two years from this date, be and the same is hereby appropriated

and shall be paid to the said Maryland historical society out of
