SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 408.


AN ACT to prohibit the issuing of licenses to sell spirituous or


fermented liquors within two miles of New Market, in Fred-


erick county.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That it shall not be lawful for the clerk of , the circuit court of

Unlawful.

Frederick county to issue any license to any person to sell spirit-


uous or fermented liquors or lager beer at any place within Fred-


erick county within two miles of New Market, in Frederick


county.

Effective.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 409.


AN ACT to sanction a deed of certain real estate in Somerset


county, Maryland, from Susie E. Waters, Cadmus Dashiell and


Sallie E. Dashiell to the convention of the protestant episcopal


church in the diocese of Easton.


WHEREAS, Susie E. Waters, Cadmus Dashiell and Sallie E.


Dashiell of Somerset county, Maryland, by deed dated the twen-

hereafter recorded among the land records of said county,) did


convey to the convention of the protestant episcopal church in the


diocese of Maryland, certain real estate described in said deed ;
