That the sanction of the General Assembly of Maryland be and


the same is hereby given to the deed of certain real estate situated


and lying in Fairmount district, Somerset county, Maryland, from

Sanction.

Susie E. Waters, Cadmus Dashiell and Sallie E. Dashiell to the


convention of protestant episcopal church in the diocese of Easton,


in manner and form as set forth in said deed.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

CHAPTER 410.


AN ACT to repeal section two hundred and thirty-three, of article


twenty-seven, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes


and Punishments," sub-title "Rape," and to re-enact the same


with amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That section two hundred and thirty-three, of article twenty-


seven, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and

Repeal

Punishments," sub-title "Rape," be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:


233. If any person shall carnally know and abuse any woman-


child under the age of fourteen years, every such carnal knowledge


shall be deemed felony, and the offender being convicted thereof,

shall at the discretion of the court suffer death or imprisonment


for life in the penitentiary, or for a definite period not less than


eighteen months nor more than twenty-one years.
