CHAPTER 214.

AN ACT to prevent persons from unlawfully using or wearing
|
|
|
|
the insignia or rosette of the military order of the loyal legion
|
|
|
|
of the United States, or the badge or button of the grand army
|
|
|
|
of the republic.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That an additional section be added to the Code of Public General
|

Laws, entitled " Crimes and Punishments," sub-title " Fraud," to

|
|
|
be numbered one hundred and nineteen A, and to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
119 A. Any person who shall wilfully wear the insignia or
|
|
|
|
rosette of the military order of the loyal legion of the United
|
|
|
|
States, or badge or button of the grand army of the republic, or
use the same to obtain aid or assistance within this State, unless
|

he shall be entitled to use or wear the same under the constitution

|
|
and by-laws, rules and regulations of such organization shall be
|
|
|
|
guilty of misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punished by
|
|
|

a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars.

AN ACT to refund to Everhard Hartke, late collector of State
|
|
|
|
taxes for the first collection district of Howard county, certain
|
|
|
|
moneys erroneously paid by him into the treasury.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
That the comptroller of the treasury be and he is hereby authorized
|
|
|
|
and directed to issue his warrant upon the treasurer in favor of
|
|
|
|

tion district of Howard county, for the sum of twenty-three dol-

lars and fifty-three cents, being the amount overpaid by him into

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
