and all ordinances of the mayor and city council of Baltimore


which are inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and are


hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency; provided,
however, that this act changing the ward and precinct boundaries


as aforesaid in the city of Baltimore, shall in no wise invalidate


or in any manner affect the term or terms of office of the city


council heretofore elected in wards affected by this act, or the


appointments of any school commissioner, or any other officers here-


tofore selected, made or appointed according to law or in pur-


suance of the ordinances of the mayor and city council of Balti-

further, that the change made of the boundary of any of said


wards or precincts in pursuance of this act, shall in nowise alter


or affect the legislative and congressional districts as now provided


by law, and so that the portion of the twentieth ward which by

be laid off as one precinct of said eleventh ward, shall still con-


tinue to remain a portion of the second congressional district, as


it now is by virtue of an act of the General Assembly, passed at


the present session, and shall continue to remain a portion of the


third legislative district, as it now is under the existing law.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect

CHAPTER 187.


AN ACT to add an additional section to article sixty-six, of the


Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Mortgages,"


to be numbered section twenty-three, legalizing and making


valid sales made under powers of sale contained in mortgages


by persons not named therein as persons to make said sales, but


nominated and appointed by the mortgagees, their successors or


assigns, or by the executors or administrators of such mortgagees


or their assigns, by powers of attorney executed subsequently to


default and supposed and intended to be in conformity with


section five, of article sixty-four, of the Code of Public General


Laws of eighteen hundred and sixty, title "Mortgages."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
