CHAPTER 23.
|

|
|
|
AN ACT to regulate trap fishing in the tributaries of the Poto-
|
|
|
|
|
mac river within the waters of St. Mary's county, so as to
|
|
|
|
|
exclude non-residents.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
|
That it shall not be lawful to catch or take fish in the tributa-
|

ries of the Potomac river within the waters of St. Mary's county
|
|
|
|
|
except for food purposes.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person or persons wishing
|
|
|
|
|
to set a fish trap or pound in any of the tributaries of the Poto-
|
|
|
|
|
mac river within the waters of St. Mary's county, shall make ap-
|
|
|
|
|
plication to a justice of the peace for St. Mary's county, for a
|

permit to put down such trap or pound, and shall make oath
|
tion.

|
|
|
before such justice that he has been a bona fide resident of said
|
|
|
|
|
county for twelve months immediately preceding the date of
|
|
|
|
|
such application.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any Justice of the Peace for
|
|
|
|
|
St. Mary's county, upon application df any bona fide resident of
|
|
|
|
|
St. Mary's county, shall administer such oath and issue such
|

|
|
|
|
permit as prescribed in the previous sections of this Act, and
|
|
|
|
|
shall charge twenty-five cents as his fee.
|
|
|
|
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any person or persons violat-
|
|
|
|
|
ing any pf the provisions of this Act, shall upon conviction
|
|
|
|
|
thereof, pay a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor more than
|

one hundred dollars, to be collected as other fines; one-half to go
|
|
|
|
|
to the informer, the other half to be paid to the school commis-
|
|
|
|
|
sioners for the benefit of the public schools of St. Mary's county.

|
|
|
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Caro-

|
|
|
|
line county," by adding a new section to be designated as sub-
|
|
|
|
|
title "Revenue and Taxes," and to come in as section two hun-
|
|
|
|
|
dred and four A.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Caroline county," be

|
|
|
|
and is hereby amended by adding the following section to be des-
|
