CHAPTER 171.


AN ACT to authorize and empower the county commissioners


of Wicomico county to pay the clerk of the circuit court for


said county seventy-five dollars ($75.00,) for indexing the re-


corded magistrates judgments filed in the clerk's office of


Wicomico county.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the county commissioners of Wicomico county be and they

are hereby authorized and empowered to levy upon the assessable


property of said county the sum of seventy-five dollars, to pay to


the clerk of the circuit court for said county for indexing the


magistrates judgments recorded in the magistrates docket in the


clerk's office of the circuit court for said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 172.


AN ACT to repeal section forty-three, of article sixty-three, of


the Code of Public Genera] Laws, entitled " Mechanic's Lien."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That section forty-three, of article sixty-three, of the Code of

Repeal.

Public General Laws, entitled " Mechanic's Lien," be and the same


is hereby repealed.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 173.


AN ACT to appropriate annually a sum of money for the sup-


port of the Havre-de-Grace academy.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the treasurer, upon the warrant of the comptroller, shall


pay on the first day of July in the year eighteen hundred and

urer of the board of trustees of said academy and his successor
