which was duly admitted to probate by the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore c'ty, and is duly recorded in


the office of the Register of Wills of Baltimore city,


in Wills Liber J. H. B. No. 44, folio 561, etc., among


other bequests and legacies, gave and bequeathed the


sum of one thousand dollars to the Protestant Epis-


copal Church of the Messiah in Baltimore city;


therefore,


SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That the assent, sanction and


consent of the General Assembly of Maryland be


and the same is hereby given and declared to the

brel, deceased, to the Protestant Episcopal Church

AN ACT giving the sanction of the General As-


sembly of Maryland to a certain legacy bequeath-


ed by John Loats, late of Frederick county, de-


ceased, to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of


Frederick in the State of Maryland.


WHEREAS John Loats, late of Frederick county,


deceased, did by his last will and testament, duly


probated and recorded among the testamentary

Preamble.

records of Frederick county, bequeath unto the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick the sum


of one thousand dollars, for the purpose of perpetu-


ally renting a pew of said church, to be kept as a


free pew, and on condition that said church cause
