SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and

hereby authorized and empowered to subscribe to the

capital stock of the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac

Authorized

River Tide-Water Company, or to endorse the first

to subscribe.

mortgage bonds of said company to an amount not
|
|
|
|
exceeding one million and five hundred thousand dol-
|
|
|
|
lars, upon such terms and conditions as the said
|
|
|
|
Mayor and City Council may order and prescribe.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted That this act shall

CHAPTER 437.
AN ACT to enable the Baltimore, Cincinnati and
Western Railway Company, a corporation under
the provisions of chapter two hundred and forty-
two of the acts of the Legislature of Maryland,
passed at January session, eighteen hundred and
seventy-six, and entitled "An act to repeal chapter
four hundred and seventy-six of the acts of eigh-
teen hundred and seventy, entitled 'An act to
provide for the creation and regulation of incor-
porated companies in the State of Maryland,'"
and enact a substitute therefor; to merge and
consolidate with other connecting railroads, and
to lease or be leased by the same; to cross other
railroads; to borrow money, and to issue capital
stock in shares of fifty dollars each, or in shares of
one hundred dollars each.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Baltimore, Cincinnati
and Western Railway Company be and the same is
