	CHAPTER 385.
	AN ACT to enable the Mayor and Council of
	Hagerstown to pay ont to the First Hagerstown
	Hose Company and the Independent Junior Fire
	Company, two fire companies of said town, the
	sum of three thousand dollars, for the purchase of
	steam fire engines, and to issue bonds to raise
	money for said purpose.
	SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
	of Maryland, That the Mayor and Council of Hag-
	erstown be and they are hereby authorized and em-
	powered to pay out to the First Hagerstown Hose	Pay out to.
	Company and the Independent Junior Fire Com-
	pany, two fire companies of said town, the sum of
	fifteen hundred dollars each, to enable said com-
	panies to purchase steam fire engines or hose car-
	riages and equipments.
	SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
	of raising the money to be paid out as aforesaid, the
	said Mayor and Council of Hagerstown be and they
	are hereby authorized to issue bonds to the extent	Issue bonds.

	est not exceeding five per centum per annum, inter- est payable semi-annually, and to be payable in three
	years from the date of their issue.
	SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and
	Council of Hagerstown shall levy, in each and every
	year, upon the assessable property of said town, a	Levy on as
	sum sufficient to discharge one thousand dollars of	sessable prop-
	the principal of the indebtedness created as afore-	erty.
