CHAPTER 320.


AN ACT to repeal section twenty-six of chapter


three hundred and ninety-seven of an act passed


January session, eighteen hundred and seventy-


eight, entitled "An act to incorporate the town of


Gaithersburg, in Montgomery county," and to re-


enact the same with an amendment so as to read


as follows :


SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That the act entitled an act to


repeal section twenty-six of chapter three hundred


and ninety-seven of an act passed at January session,


eighteen hundred and seventy-eight, entitled "An
act to incorporate the town of Gaithersburg, in

Montgomery county," and to re-enact the same with


amendments so as to read as follows, be and the


same is hereby repealed, amended and re-enacted so


as to read as follows :


SECTION 26. The commissioners for the county,


justices of the peace, sheriff, constables, and all other


county and State officers shall have, hold and exer-


cise their offices and jurisdiction in said town as if


this charter had not been granted ; and the Com-


missioners for Montgomery county shall appropri-
ate annually one-half of the tax levied or imposed

within the corporate limits of the town, and shall


order the county collectors, who shall collect the


taxes within said corporate limits, to pay said one-


half thereof to the commissioners of said town for
