judgment or decree shall pass against the husband
or his estate, but such judgment or decree shall be

passed against the wife only ; and it shall operate

only upon her estate held and owned by her prior

or subsequent to said marriage.

SEC. 33. Any married woman, against whom any
|
|
|
|
proceeding may be taken under this act, shall have
|

power to appoint an attorney at law to act for her
|
torney.

|
in such proceeding, if she shall elect so to do; this
|
|
|
|
act shall not apply to eases pending.

|
AN ACT to appropriate a snm of money to pay
|

|
|
Samuel Swope, administrator, cum testamento
|
|
|
|
annexe, of Edward Spaulding, late of Carroll
|
|
|
|
county, deceased, the amount overpaid by said
|
|
|
|
Spaulding as collector of tax for the first election
|
|
|
|
district of said county.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the
|
|
|
|
Treasury be and he is hereby authorized and di-
|
|
|
|
rected to issue his warrant on the Treasurer of this
|
|
|
|
State, to pay to Samuel Swope, administrator cum
|
|
|
|
testamento annexo of Edward Spaulding, late of
|
Issue warrant
|
|
|
said county, deceased, the sum of one hundred and
|
|
|
|
sixty-three dollars and fifty-six cents, being the
|
|
|
|
amount overpaid into the treasury by said Edward
|
|
|
|
Spaulding as collector of State taxes for election
|
|
|
|
district number one of said county, as certified to
|
|
|
|
by the Comptroller of the Treasury.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
