CHAPTER 210.
|

|
|
AN ACT to amend article twenty-eight of the Code
|
|
|
|
of Public General Laws of this State, title "County
|
|
|
|
Commissioners," by adding an additional section
|
|
|
|
thereto under said title, to be designated as section
|
|
|
|
one A, relating to the method of filling vacancies
|
|
|
|
or otherwise in the number of county commission-
|
|
|
|
ers for each county.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That article twenty-eight of the
|
|
|
|
Code of Public General Laws of this State, title
|
|
|
Additional
|
"County Commissioners," be and the same is hereby
|
|
|
section added
|
amended by adding thereto the following additional
|
|
|
|
section under said title, to be designated as sec-
|
|
|
|
tion one A.
|
|
|
|
1 A. In case any office of county commissioner
|
|
|
|
shall become vacant in any county by death, resig-
|
|
|
|
nation or otherwise, the Governor, if such vacancy
|
|
|
|
shall occur during the session of the Senate shall,
|
|
|
|
by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,
|
|
|
Vacancy —
|
appoint; and if such vacancy shall occur during the
|
|
|
how filled
|
recess of the Senate, shall appoint a proper person
|
|
|
|
or proper persons to fill such vacancy or vacancies ;
and the nomination of the person thus appointed dur-
|
|
|
|
ing such recess, or of some other person in his place,
|
|
|
|
shall be made to the Senate within thirty days after
|
|
|
|
the next meeting of the Legislature.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
|
|
|

take effect from and after the date of its passage.
