ratification of this act by the people residing within

the lines of the territory proposed to be trans-

ferred as specified; provided they obtain certifi-

cates, as now provided by law, that their names
|
|
|
|
|
have been stricken from the registration list of the
|
|
|
|
|
said twelfth election district of Dorchester county;
|
|
|
|
|
and all persons who may remove to said transferred
|
|
|
|
|
territory, and who are otherwise qualified to exer-
|
|
|
|
|
cise the elective franchise, shall likewise be en-
|
|
|
|
|
titled to register in the said fifth election district
|
|
|
|
|
of Caroline county.

|
|
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the passage of
|
|
|
|
|
this act shall, in no way affect, impair, alter or
|

abate any suit or action pending in any of the

courts of Dorchester county, or before any justice
|
|
|
|
|
of the peace thereof, in which any persons re-
|
|
|
|
|
siding within the limits of the territory transfer-

red by this act are in any mariner concerned, or
|
|
|
|
|
any executions in the hands of any sheriff or con-
|
|
|
|
|
stable, or any matters or things in any way apper-
|
|
|
|
|
taining to letters of administration or letters tes-
|
|
|
|
|
tamentary issued by the Orphans' Court of Dor-
|
|
|
|
|
chester county, but the same shall go on to com-
|
|
|
|
|
pletion precisely as if this act had not been passed;
|
|
|
|
|
nor shall the lien of any judgment upon any of
|
|
|
|
|
the land hereby transferred to Caroline county, or
|
|
|
|
|
of any mortgage upon real or personal property
|
|
|
|
|
therein, said liens being of record in the office of
|
|
|
|
|
the clerk of the Circuit Court for Dorchester county,
be altered or divested by the passage of this act.

|
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That in consideration
|
|
|
|
|
of the transfer of valuable taxable property from
|
Bonded debt
|
|
|
|
Dorchester county to Caroline county by virtue of
|
released.
|
|
|
|
this act, and of the existence of a bonded debt of
|
|
|
|
|
the last named county, from taxation for the pay-
|
|
|
|
|
ment of which the aforesaid portion of Dorchester
|
|
|
|
|
county about to be transferred to Caroline county
|
|
|
|
|
will hereby be released, the County Commission-
