CHAPTER 200.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to amend an act passed at the January
|
|
|
|
session of eighteen hundred and sixty- eight, chap-
|
|
|
|
ter three hundred and sixty-four, entitled "An act
|
|
|
|
to incorporate the Baltimore and Drum Point
|
|
|
|
Railroad Company," by extending the time for
|
|
|
|
the completion of the road of said company and
|
|
|
|
by authorizing the same to acquire the rights of
|
|
|
|
the State and all others interested in the Annap-
|
|
|
|
olis and Elk Ridge Railroad Company.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That the time for the comple-
|
|
|
|
tion of the main line of the road of the Baltimore
|
|
|
Time extend-

and Drum Point Railroad Company be and the same
|
|
|
ed.
|
is hereby extended to the first day of May, in the
|
|
|
|
year eighteen hundred and eighty-five, and that
none of the rights or privileges granted to the said
|
|
|
|
company by its original charter passed at the Janu-
ary session of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight,
|
|
|
|
chapter three hundred and sixty-four, or any supple-
ment thereto, shall be in anywise avoided by reason
|
|
|
|
of the failure of said company to complete its said
|
|
|
|
road prior to the said first day of May, eighteen hun-
|
|
|
|
dred and eighty-five.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Baltimore
|
|
|
|
and Drum Point Railroad Company, whenever the
|
|
|
|
same shall have been completed and in operation
|
|
|
|
between Drum Point and the Annapolis and Elk
|
|
|
Acquire
|
Ridge Railroad, then, and in that case, the said Bal-
|
|
|
State's inter-
|
timore and Drum Point Railroad Company shall be
|
|
|
est.
|
and it is hereby authorized and empowered to acquire
from the Board of Public Works all the interest of
|
|
|
|
the State in the Annapolis and Elk Ridge Railroad
|
|
|
|
Company, and all the claims and demands of the
|
|
|
|
State against the said last named company, on such
|
|
|
|
terms as the said board may deem advantage-
|
|
|
|
ous to the State; and also to acquire from all other
|
|
|
|
persons whatsoever, willing to dispose of the same,
|
