forever, for the burial of the dead and for no other
purpose, which cemetery shall be known as the
" Western Cemetery;" provided that land so to be
purchased and held by said corporation shall not in-
terfere with any public road or canal now located
or in use.

		CHAPTER 171.
		AN ACT to reduce the salary of the Adjutant
		General to fifteen hundred dollars per annum, by
		amending, and re-enacting as amended, the sixth
		section of the act of eighteen hundred and sev-
		enty, chapter one hundred and eighty-two, en-
		titled an act to repeal the act of eighteen hundred
		and sixty-eight, chapter four hundred and fourteen,
		entitled an act to repeal an act entitled an act to
		repeal article sixty-three, Code of Public General
		Laws, relating to militia, and sections six hundred
		and fifty-two to seven hundred and seventy, both
		inclusive, of article four, Code of Public Local
		Laws, relating to militia in the city of Baltimore,
		and to re-enact the same with amendments.
		SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
		bly of Maryland, That the sixth section of the act of eighteen hundred and seventy, chapter one hun-
