	SEC. 6. The general staff of the militia shall
	consist of an adjutant general, with the rank of major general, and salary at the rate of fifteen hun- dred dollars a year, and a quartermaster general,	Who the gen- eral staff shall consist of

	ordnance, a chief of artillery, a chief of cavalry,

	their successors, or until removed in pursuance of
	the sentence of a court martial; and the Governor
	is hereby empowered to appoint such number of

	mander in chief.

	CHAPTER 172.
	AN ACT to repeal sections one, two, three, twelve,
	thirteen, fourteen, sixteen, seventeen and eighteen
	of article forty-eight of the Code of Public Gen-
	eral Laws, title " Insolvents," and to re-enact the
	same with amendments, and also to add certain
	new sections to said article.
	SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assem-
