CHAPTER 118.

AN ACT for the relief of William Layton, surety
|
|
|
|
of James A. Stewart, administrator of Joseph
|
|
|
|
Stewart, deceased.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That William Layton, of Dor-
|
|
|
|
chester county, surety upon the administration bond
|
|
|
|
of Joseph Stewart, deceased, be and he is hereby re-
|
|
|
|
leased from the payment of all interest with which
|
|
|
|
the said James A. Stewart or his surety or sureties
|
|
|
|
may be charged or chargeable upon the said ad-
|
|
|
|
ministration bond for collateral inheritance taxes;
|
|
|
|
provided the said William Layton shall promptly
|
|
|
|
pay into the treasury of the State the amount of the
|

|
|
principal sum due to the State for the collateral in-
|

|
|
heritance taxes aforesaid, and provided that he shall
|
ment.

|
|
also pay the plaintiff's costs incident to the suit
|
|
|
|
against him and others for the recovery of said taxes,
|
|
|
|
including such reasonable counsel fee, not to exceed
|
|
|
|
two hundred dollars, as may be directed by the Cir-
|
|
|
|
cuit Court for Dorchester county, the Comptroller
|
|
|
|
and Treasurer of the State having recommended
|
|
|
|
that the said interest be remitted.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
