CHAPTER 117.


AN ACT for the relief of Josiah Linthicum, surety


of James A. Stewart, administrator of Levin


Stewart, deceased.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That Josiah Linthicum, of Dor-


chester county, surety upon the administration bond


of James A. Stewart, administrator of Levin

Stewart, deceased, be and he is hereby released

from pay-

from the payment of all interest with which the

said James A. Stewart, or his surety or sureties, may


be charged or chargeable, upon the administration


bond aforesaid, for collateral inheritance taxes ; pro-


vided the said Josiah Linthicum shall promptly


pay into the treasury of the State the amount of


the principal sums due to the State for the col-


lateral inheritance taxes aforesaid, and provided that


he shall also pay the plaintiff's costs incident to the


suit against him and others for the recovery of


said taxes, including such reasonable council fee,


not to exceed two hundred dollars, as may be direc-


ted by the Circuit Court for Dorchester county, the


Comptroller and Treasurer of the State having rec-


ommended that the said interest be remitted.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take


effect from the date of its passage.
