CHAPTER 87.


AN ACT to authorize the Eastern Shore Railroad


Company, as reorganized, to acquire by purchase


the Eastern Shore Railroad, and all the rolling


stock, property, furniture, effects, franchises and cor-


porate rights of the Eastern Shore Railroad Com-


pany, and to extend to the said Eastern Shore Eail-


road Company, as reorganized after such purchase,


all the rights, privileges and franchises contained


in the charter of the Eastern Shore Railroad Com-


pany, and to amend the charter of the Eastern


Shore Railroad Company, as reorganized, and to


repeal all Acts of Assembly inconsistent with the


provisions of this act.


WHEREAS by a decree of the Circuit Court of the


United States for the district of Maryland, sitting


in equity, and passed in a cause in the said court


wherein the Harlan and Hollingsworth Company


and others are complainants, and the Eastern Shore


Railroad Company and others are defendants, bear-


ing date the tenth day of December, eighteen hun-


dred and seventy-eight, a certain Samuel M. Felton,

of the State of Pennsylvania, was appointed a trus-


tee and authorized and empowered to sell the prem-


ises mortgaged by the said Eastern Shore Railroad


Company, to with the Eastern Shore Railroad and


all the rolling stock, property, furniture, effects and


franchises of the said Eastern Shore Railroad Com-


pany, for the payment of the second mortgage bonds


of the said Eastern Shore Railroad Company, men-


tioned in the said decree, and the interest thereon


which had accrued and might accrue thereon until


the day of sale ; and


WHEREAS, in pursuance of the said decree, the said

Samuel M. Felton, trustee, after complying with all
the requirements of the said decree, and after giving


the notice therein required of time, place, manner


and terms of sale, did, on the nineteenth day of Feb-
