CHAPTER 83.


AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners


of Carroll county to release Lawrence Zepp, Reu-


ben W. Stern, Edwin K. Gernaud, John Bucking


ham and Edwin F. Reese, surviving obligors of


Jacob Holmes, deceased, late collector of county


taxes for Westminster district, Carroll county,


Maryland.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners


of Carroll county be and they are hereby authorized


and empowered to release Lawrence Zepp, Reuben

gors of Jacob Holmes, deceased, from the payment


of the judgments recovered against them as sureties


upon the bond of the said Jacob Holmes, as col-


lector of county taxes for Westminster district,


Carroll county, for the year eighteen hundred and


seventy-one, at the May term, eighteen hundred and


seventy-six, of the Circuit Court for Carroll county,


in favor of the County Commissioners of Carroll


county, and also John Buckingham, Lawrence Zepp


and Edwin F. Reese, surviving obligors of Jacob


Holmes, deceased, from the payment of the judg-


ments recovered against them as sureties upon the


bond of the said Jacob Holmes as collector of


county taxes for Carroll county, Westminster dis-


trict, Carroll county, for the year eighteen hundred


and seventy, at the May term, eighteen hundred


and seventy-six, of the Circuit Court for Carroll


county, in favor of the County Commissioners of


Carroll county, or release them from the payment of


so much of said judgments as the County Commis-


sioners of Carroll county may deem proper.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
