688 CAROLINE COUNTY. [ART. 6.

shall have opened and constructed and dedicated to the public the
said new road, and not before, the said John A. Williams shall
have the right, and is hereby authorized and empowered, to close
up the old road and enclose its bed in his respective bounds and
inclosure; and from and after the opening of said new road and
closing of the present road, the said new road shall constitute the
bounding lines between the said counties of Caroline and Dor-
chester in place of the present road.

217. The governor, by and with the advice and consent of the
senate, shall, at every regular session of the general assembly,
appoint three persons in each of the following counties, namely:
Caroline, Prince George's, Charles and Montgomery counties,
who shall constitute a board of school commissioners for their
respective counties.

218. The term of office of the boards of county school com-
missioners created by the preceding section shall be for two years
from the first day of May in every second year, beginning with
the year eighteen hundred and eighty-six, and until their suc-
cessors in office shall have been appointed and shall qualify.

220. The sheriff of Caroline county shall be allowed for keep-
ing prisoners in jail, and finding them in food, not more than
fifty cents per day, exclusive of fire-wood.
