230 BALTIMORE COUNTY. [ART. 3,

1878, ch. 340.

193. The comity commissioners shall keep a book of record
for each district, in which shall be recorded all the roads and
bridges of that district, and all surveys and other proceedings
which may be had in reference to any road or bridge in that
district; and they are authorized to provide such book as may be
necessary to carry out the provisions of this sub-title of this
article, and pay the cost thereof out of the general road fund
hereinafter provided.

194. The road commissioners shall take charge of all the roads
and bridges in their respective districts, and shall see that no ob-
struction, hindrance or injury is permitted upon any road or bridge
under their supervision; and when any road of bridge shall form
the boundary between districts, the county commissioners shall
assign to each district its portion of said road or bridge.

195. The opening, construction and repair of new roads, the
closing and changing the location and repair of all roads, shall
be within the control of the board of commissioners of that dis-
trict in which they are situated, subject to approval by the
county commissioners.

196. The county commissioners shall annually levy upon the
assessable property of Baltimore county at the time of making
the county levy, a sum of money not leas than ten nor more than,
fifteen cents on the one hundred dollars, for the use of the public
roads and bridges in the county, which shall be collected as other
county taxes are collected.

197. They shall set apart two-thirds of the tax so collected as
a special road and bridge fund, which shall be for the use and
benefit of that district from which it has been collected, and for
no other purpose; and all orders for the payment of money shall
be signed by the chairman and at least one other road commis-
sioner of that district. They shall set apart the remaining one-
third of the tax so collected, as a general road and bridge fund,
