1728 ST. MARY'S COUNTY. [ART. 19.

ARTICLE XIX.

ST. MARY'S COUNTY.

Almshouse.

1. County commissioners to have
control over.
2. When to be let, terms and dura-
tion of lease.
3. Who may direct what poor to be
received into.
4. Vagrants, beggars and disorderly
persons, commitment of, to, by
justices of the peace.
5. Persons selling liquor to inmates
of, penalty.
6 Commitment to jail of disorderly
inmates of.
7. Physician, appointment, compen-
sation and duties of.

8. Commissioners authorized to make
such rules and by-laws as they
see fit, concerning

Birds, Game and Foxes.

9. What birds unlawful to kill at any
time, or to destroy eggs of, when
robins excepted.

10. Possession of such birds or eggs,
prima facie evidence of violation
of preceding section.
11. Violation of section 9, penalty.
12. Constables and bailiffs to arrest all
persons violating section 9, and
take them before justices.

13. Justices of the peace to report
semi-annually amount of fines
collected under four preceding
sections, to board of county
school commissioners, penalty.

14. Unlawful to kill or trap any En-
glish mocking bird, or to destroy
eggs of such.

15. Possession of birds or eggs men-
tioned in preceding section,
prima facie evidence of viola-
tion of same.

16. Justices of the peace to have juris-
diction over violations of sec-
tion 14, penalty

17. Section 14 not to prohibit citizens
of county to take the young of
birds mentioned in such section,
for their own use, oath of per-
son taking such, when to be
made, and of what effect as evi-
dence

18. Bounty paid for what birds and.
