ART. 18.] CENTREVILLE. 1671

1878, ch. 118.

81. They shall have full power and authority to order, direct
and provide for the grading, regulating, paving and repairing of
the gutters and sewers within the corporate limits of the town,
and to enforce their orders and enactments in regard thereto by
the imposition of fines and penalties.

1882, ch. 120.

82. It shall be unlawful for any person to ride on or drive
over the sidewalk leading from Centreville to the Centreville
wharf; and any person so offending shall forfeit and pay to the
county commissioners the sum of five dollars for each and every
such offence, to be recovered before any justice of the peace in
the third election district of said county, in the name of the county
commissioners; and on refusal to pay said fine and costs he shall
be committed by such justice of the peace to the jail of Queen
Anne's county until the same shall be paid.

83. All fines collected under the preceding section shall be
paid to the county commissioners, and they are authorized to use
such money for the purpose of keeping the said sidewalk in repair.

1888, ch. 188.

84. The commissioners of Centreville are authorized and
empowered to issue bonds in the name of the commissioners of
Centreville, in sums not less than one hundred dollars nor more
than one thousand dollars, to be signed by the commissioners of
Centreville, not exceeding, in the whole, the sum of twenty
thousand dollars, bearing interest at the rate of not more than six
per centum per annum, payable semi-annually, in each and every
year, and dated on the day of their issue, and the same shall be
exempt from county and municipal taxation.

85. The said bonds shall be issued, payable seventeen years
from the date thereof, and redeemable at any time after the ex-
piration of ten years from the date thereof, at the pleasure of the
said commissioners; and the said bonds shall be consecutively
numbered as the same shall be issued.
