89. Upon the production of the said justice's certificate before
the county commissioners they are authorized and directed to
levy upon the assessable property of the county a sum sufficient
for such bounties, for the use of the persons producing the same
and, shall pay the same accordingly.

90. The county commissioners of Anne Arundel, Prince
George's and Calvert counties are authorized, whenever in their
judgment the public interest requires it, to provide free travel
over the Patuxent river, at or near Hill's bridge.

91. When, in the judgment of said county commissioners, pub-
lic interest shall require said provision, they may negotiate with
the owner or owners of Hill's bridge, and purchase and maintain
the same as a public highway free of toll; provided, the price
demanded be not a greater sum than it would take to build a
new bridge near the site of the present one.

92. In the event of the purchase or building of a bridge, the
cost of the structure shall be divided between Anne Arundel,
Prince George's and Calvert counties, in the following proportions,
that is to say: Anne Arundel shall bear two-fifths of the cost,
Prince George's, two-fifths, and Calvert, one-fifth.

93. There shall be appointed annually some competent person
to act as bridge-keeper of Light-street bridge, whose duty it shall
be to attend to the opening and closing of the draw of said bridge,
and also to the keeping of said bridge in safe and proper condition
for public travel; and the said bridge-keeper shall receive for his
services such compensation as the mayor and city council of Bal-
timore and the county commissioners of Anne Arundel county
shall think just and proper, to be provided for in their annual
