1878, ch. 408.

14. No person shall kill or destroy any rabbit between the
first day of January and the fifteenth day of October, under a
penalty of five dollars for each rabbit so killed or destroyed.

15. No person shall have in his possession in said county any
partridge, pheasant, wood-cock, robin, wild-turkey or rabbit,
within the times in which the killing or destroying of the same
is so prohibited, nor shall any person at any time wilfully molest
or destroy the eggs or nests of any of the birds mentioned in the
three preceding sections, or trap, net or ensnare in any manner,
any partridge, wild-turkey or rabbit, or have the same in posses-
sion, under a penalty of five dollars for each egg or nest molested
or destroyed, or partridge, wild-turkey or rabbit trapped, netted,
ensnared or found in possession, except such birds as may be
kept for breeding or ornamental purposes.

16. Any person violating any of the five preceding sections,
and being convicted thereof before any justice of the peace of
the county, shall forfeit the fine or fines above named, for the
use of the society for the protection of game, fish and birds of
Allegany county, incorporated or to be incorporated under article
23 of the code of public general laws, title "Corporations; " and
if the offender, after being convicted of the offence, shall refuse
to pay the said fines, he shall be committed to the jail of the
county, for every such offence, for the space of ten days; pro-
vided, however, that such conviction shall be had within sixty
days after the offence.

17. It shall be the duty of the constables and public officers
of the several election districts of the county or wards of the
several cities to arrest all persons whom they may see or suspect of
violating any of sections 11-15, and take them before the nearest
justice of the peace, to be dealt with as in said sections and sec-
tion 16 provided.

18. Any person who shall shoot, kill or destroy within the
limits of Allegany county, any hawk, owl or weasel, shall be
