1874, c. 32, repeals sec. 2, enacted by 1872, c. 410, and
enacts a sec. numbered 2, in lieu thereof; applicable to Wash-
ington county. v

ARTICLE LXXVII.

Rail Roads.

See the following acts:

1870, c. 362, repealing all laws whereby the stock, or property of any
railroad company whose lines pass through or over any part of this state,
is exempt from taxation. See act, under article 81, " Revenue and Taxes. "

1872, c. 234, an act to tax the gross receipts of railroad companies in
this state for state purposes. The act of 1872, c. 234, is repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, by 1874, c. 408. See acts, under article 81,
" Revenue and Taxes. "

1872, cc. 353 and 376, relating to the Elkton and Elk valley railroad
company, and the Middletown and Elkton railroad company. See acts,
under article 26, " Corporations. "

1874, c. 333, an act to authorize the sale of freight and baggage by rail-
road companies and common carriers, in certain cases.

1874, c. 446, an act to provide for the passage of locomotives, cars, pass-
engers and freight, over connecting railroads in the state of Maryland.

ARTICLE LXXVIII.

Refuge — house of.

1872, c. 218, repeals sects. 15, 17, 18 and 21, and amends
and re-enacts the same.
