158. The county commissioners of Baltimore
county, are hereby authorized and required to levy
annually, at the time of making the county levy, an
additional school tax of twelve cents on each hun-
dred dollars of assessable property in said county,
to be collected as other taxes are now collected, and
to be applied to the support of public schools and
the building of school houses.

Treasurer to
keep separate
account

159. The treasurer of Baltimore county shall keep
a separate account of the receipts and payments on
account of said school tax in a book provided for
that purpose, in such manner as will show at any
time, the amount of said school tax in his hands.

160. The treasurer of Baltimore county shall, on
the first Tuesday in each month, pay over to the
treasurer of the board of school commissioners of
said county the whole amount of school tax which
may have been collected and paid into his hands.

reduced

161. Whenever a new assessment of property in
said county shall be adopted as the basis of taxation,
then the said school tax shall be reduced to seven
cents on the one hundred dollars.
