PRIMARY SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER NINETEEN, ANNE ARUNDEL Co.
AN ACT entitled, An act to authorize the Trustees of Primary School District num-
ber Nineteen, of Anne Arundel county, to sell the lot of ground on which the old
School House is built, and to select a site and build a new School House in a more
central place, and to authorize the Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to levy
one hundred dollars on the assessable property of said county, for building said
School House.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That William H. Downs, Randolph S. Cromwell and William Hawkins,
be and they are hereby authorized to sell and convey the lot of ground
and School House of District number Nineteen, which said lot was con-
veyed by deed, dated twenty-third day of January, eighteen hundred and
thirty-three, to the Trustees of Primary School number Nineteen, by
John R. Thomas, and to apply the proceeds of such sale to the building
of a new School House; and the said William H. Downs, Randolph S.
Cromwell and William Hawkins, be and they are hereby authorized to
select a site for the erection of said School House, as nearly central as
possible.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Commissioners of Anne
Arundel county are hereby authorized and empowered to levy upon the
assessable property of said county, one hundred dollars, to aid in the
erection of said School House for Primary District number Nineteen.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the
day of its passage.

AN ACT to carry into effect the bequest of freedom to certain slaves made by the
last will and testament of John Randall, late of the city of Annapolis, deceased,
by authorizing his widow, executrix and residuary legatee, to manumit said slaves.
WHEREAS, it appears to this General Assembly that, by the last will
and testament of a certain John Randall, late of the city of Annapolis,
in Anne Arundel county, deceased, bearing date the —— day of
October, eighteen hundred and fifty-three, duly executed and recorded
in Liber B. E. G., number one, folio four hundred and fifty-five, &c.,
one of the will Record Books of said county, all the negro slaves of
the said testator were bequeathed to a certain Eliza Randall, of said
city and county, the widow of said testator, during her natural life,
and then to be free; and whereas, the said testator departed thia
life in the month of February in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-
one, after the act of eighteen hundred and sixty, chapter three hun-
dred and twenty-two, prohibiting the manumission of negro slaves
had taken effect; and this General Assembly is willing to carry, out
