the wishes of said testator in exercising a power which he legally
possessed at the date of the execution of his said last will and testa-
ment; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,.
That the said Eliza Randall, widow of the said testator and the execu-
trix of and residuary legatee, under the said last will and testament, be
and she is hereby authorized and empowered, by her last will and testa-
ment, or by deed or deeds of manumission-, duly executed and recorded
among the records of Anne Arundel county, to manumit and set free
after her death, the said negro slaves, and any and all issue which they
may have had since the death of the said testator, and which they may
have during the life of the said Eliza Randall; any law, usage or
custom to the contrary notwithstanding.

SEC. 2. That this act shall take effect from the day of its passage.

JAMES REDDIT.

AN ACT to make valid certain deeds from Thomas James Reddit, known as James
Reddit, Jr., of Dorchester county, to James Reddit, of Dorchester county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a deed executed by Thomas James Reddit, known and mentioned
in said deed as James Reddit, Jr., of Dorchester county, to James
Reddit, of Dorchester county, dated on the fifth day of June, in the
year eighteen hundred and fifty-four, and recorded in Liber F. J. H.,
number two, folios five hundred and nine-six and five hundred and
ninety-seven, one of the Land Record Books of said county; and a
certain other deed executed by the said Thomas James Reddit, known
as James Reddit, Jr., to the said James Reddit, dated on the twenty-
fourth day of February, in the year eighteen hundred and fifty-five, and
recorded in Liber F. J. H., number three, folios one hundred and sixty-
four and one hundred and sixty-five, one of the Land Record Books of
said county, be and the same are hereby declared and made good and
valid in law; provided, that nothing herein contained shall be con-
strued to affect the rights of any creditor of the said Thomas James
Reddit, otherwise called James Reddit, Jr., existing at the date of
said deeds.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, This act shall take effect from the date
of its passage.
