94 DEEDS, WILLS, JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Trustees or Church Council of Mount Zion Church congre-
gation of Lutherans of Washington County, be, and they are hereby
authorized and empowered at their discretion to sell and dispose of so
much of the land and property acquired under and by virtue of the will
and testament of said Thomas M. Hogg, and the contract with Zacha-
rias Claggett, as they may deem proper, and apply the proceeds of sale
for the use and purposes of said church known as the Mount Zion
Church, and execute conveyances to the purchasers thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act take effect from the day of
its passage.

JOSEPH PEARSON, JUNIOR.

AIT ACT to authorize the Circuit Court for Baltimore county, to pass a decree em-
powering the Guardian of the heirs of Joseph Pearson, Junior, late of Baltimore
county, deceased, to execute a mortgage for the relief of said heirs.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Circuit Court for Baltimore county, as a Court of Equity, be
and is hereby authorized to pass a decree, if to said Court it shall seem
expedient and proper so to order and decree, empowering the Guardian
of the said heirs to raise by deed of mortgage, on the lands belonging
to the estate of the said Joseph Pearson, Junior, a sum of money not
exceeding five thousand dollars, on such terms and conditions as to said
Court may seem right and proper; and further, to order and decree
the appropriation and use of said money to such purposes, and in such
manner, as to said Court shall appear the best interest and the necessi-
ties of said heirs require.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, ELLICOTT'S MILLS.

AN ACT to mate valid and to carry into effect the bequest contained in the last
will and testament of George Kerr, late of Baltimore county, deceased, in favor
of the Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church of Ellicott's Mills, in Howard
county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the bequest to the Trustees of the first Presbyterian Church of
Ellicott's Mills, in Howard county, made by the last will and testament
of George Kerr, late of Baltimore county, deceased, be and the same is
hereby ratified and confirmed, and made valid and of due effect in law,
