and Eastern Bay and its tributaries lying within the Jurisdictional limits
of Queen Anne's County, during the month of July in each year, except
Cox Creek and its tributaries, which is closed to all nets with the exception
of fyke and gill nets.

1929, ch. 471, sec. 37.

43. (St. Mary's County.) (a) It shall be unlawful to haul a seine of
greater length than 80 fathoms within a mile of the Maryland shore in
that portion of the Potomac River between Cobb's Point in Charles County
and Point Lookout in St. Mary's County, except from the 15th day of
March to the 15th day of May, both dates inclusive, in each year.

(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to fish with seine or net of any
kind in the waters of Chaptico Bay and other waters of the Wicomico
River within the limits of St. Mary's County, within 500 yards of any
established ducking blind during the open season for shooting ducks or
other wild fowl.

(c) It shall be unlawful for any person to set fish traps or nets or haul
seine in the waters of St. Catherine's Sound in the waters of St. Mary's
County.

44. (Somerset County.) It shall be unlawful for any person to fish in
the waters of Colburn's Creek with any kind of seine, net or weir, except
such nets as are used for catching rock fish, during the months of March,
April, and May; which said last mentioned nets shall not exceed 20
fathoms in length.

45. (Talbot County.) (a) It shall be unlawful to fish with any kind of
nets in the waters of Talbot County except that gill nets when set may be
used at all times to catch fish in any of the waters of Talbot County, pro-
vided, however, that none of the provisions in this Act shall apply to the
waters of the Chesapeake Bay bordering on Talbot County, nor from
August 1st to May 21st next succeeding in each year in that part of Wye
River which is the dividing line between Talbot County and Queen Anne's
County in so far as fike nets are concerned, and it shall be lawful to catch
fish in Skipton Creek and in Harris Creek with haul seines from August
1st to May 21st next succeeding in each year, both dates inclusive, pro-
vided the mesh in all seines are in the bar not less than one and one-half
inches.

Provided, further, that none of the provisions in this paragraph shall
apply to the waters of the Choptank River proper.1

(b) It shall be unlawful at any time for non-residents to haul a seine
for the catching or taking of fish on the shores of Poplar Island or Coaches
Neck Island or within 300 yards of said island. Any person violating
the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than twenty-five dollars ($25)
nor more than fifty dollars ($50).

1 Sec. 2 of ch. 361 of acts of 1931 repealed all laws inconsistent therewith.
